Prep the Night Before

Clean out lunch boxes and talk with your kids about what they’d like to pack for lunch the next day. Or carve out some time in the evening for your kids to pick out their clothes for the next day. These two things alone will help cut down time and chaos. When the clock strikes 7 or 8am the next morning, your future self will thank you!

Set your Alarm

Hit the ground running by setting your alarm for 10 or 15 minutes before your kids get up. During this time, you can make your morning coffee, read, watch the news and simply do whatever you need to start your morning off right.

A new school year also means a schedule filled to the brim with play dates, extra curricular, sports and more. When everyone is finally home and able to sit down for dinner, the last thing you want to be doing is cleaning! The solution? Mozaik, which streamline dinner prep and clean up time. Tidy Up Your Grill

When you’re out getting groceries at the store make sure to pick up some extra charcoal or propane so that your grilling station is stocked. Don’t forget to do a deep cleaning of your grill before your BBQ; this will help prevent corrosion and kill any bacteria that may have built up since your last use.

Don’t Forget About Guests with Special Diets

Treat your guests with all the BBQ staples: hotdogs, corn on the cob, burgers and more! If you have any guests with allergies, make sure to buy a pack of gluten free buns or veggie burgers to accommodate them. Other dishes like mashed potatoes, grilled veggies or grilled fruits, such as pineapple and watermelon, are sure to please!

Last Minute Party Checklist

On the day of your party, your pre-party planning should be all but finished – it’s time to relax and patiently wait for your guests to arrive! You should be stress free at this point, provided you followed the tips from our previous blog post (Reducing Pre-Party Stress).

However, we know that life can get busy no matter how much you plan ahead, and sometimes the day of your party can creep up on you.  So for everyone working down to the wire, here are a few things to make sure you check off the list before your doorbell rings:

  1. Finish any last minute cooking and/or errands, well before the party starts. There won’t be time to run out to the store later on!
  2. Make sure your table is set ahead of time. This will help ensure that there are enough plates, napkins, cutlery and cups to go around.
  3. Confirm that you have enough chairs for each guest – everyone should be able to sit comfortably!
  4. Have your playlist ready to “rock and roll” for when your guests arrive!
  5. Make sure you are dressed and ready at least 20-25 minutes prior to when the party starts. There are always a few guests who arrive earlier than expected.
  6. You’ve worked hard – remember to relax and enjoy the party!
